on top of camera use the zoom thingie around shutter button to put the zoom on 3/1.7 (shows on the screen, first line on the right side)
press print button
check that the fabric on the bookscanner is well positioned, and that there is not too much sun or other light going in the scanner
take pictures
check for first couple of pictures that the counters show the same number on both camera's
when you are done taking pictures press the little erase button (+/-)
on screen it will say "FINISHED"
switch the mode switch to play mode
connect the usb cable to the computer
Click "Get pics from bookscanner" on the desktop
Choose new (press 1 and press enter)
type name and press enter
type catalog number (in case of Appelscha library its AAA and then the number from the excel sheet) for example AAA00023
when it says "exited with code: 0" everything was fine, if it gives a different code, copy complete terminal and put it in a file in /home/user/pusciicloud/bookscanning/errors
press enter to exit
3. tailor the book
click "start scantailor" on desktop
choose "existing book" (type 2 and then ENTER)
type the number of the book and press ENTER
scantailer will now start
do all the tailoring
click file-> save project
exit scantailor
press enter in the terminal
4. ocr the book and generate a pdf
Click "Make OCR and PDF" on the desktop
choose existing (type 2 and ENTER)
select book (number of book and ENTER)
press enter to exit
check the pdf in /home/user/pusciicloud/bookscanning/books/[name]/data/out
if pdf is not good, go back to "3. tailor the book"
5. upload the book to collaborative server
click "Upload Book" on the desktop
choose existing (type 2 and ENTER)
select book (number of book and ENTER)
wait while book gets send to server
when it says "exited with code: 0" everything was fine, in this case scan more books , if it gives a different code, copy complete terminal and put it in a file in /home/user/pusciicloud/bookscanning/errors
complain on xchat in the #lag channel if it never completes, or if it gives a code other then zero, or if there is other errors in the terminal
press enter to exit
if this step fails, you can still upload the pdf somewhere
